This brooch has been handcrafted using traditional silversmithing skills and tools.

A beautiful large oval Dragonstone Jasper (or also known as Dragon Blood Jasper) has been set in fine silver onto a sterling silver textured back plate, sawn by hand into a cross style shape, and also set with a rose cut garnet. From some of my research into Dragonstone, early humans believed it came from the petrified skin and blood of fallen dragons! It is not actually a jasper (despite its name) and is found in Australia and South Africa and is sometimes confused with Bloodstone. The brooch measures 5cm by 3cm approximately.
