Montana agate pendant
Montana agate pendant
This one of a kind Montana agate seemed to really call for a simple design to showcase the wonderful lines and mossy inclusions running through its translucence. Montana agates were formed from chalcedony (a type of quartz) along the banks and beds of the Yellowstone River, following volcanic eruptions and lava flows in the Yellowstone park area of the United States of America. They are believed to have been created millions of years ago.
The sterling silver surround was shaped to complement the round stone and given a dappled texture. A single silver pebble adorns the top and a large textured bail gives the handmade necklace a decorative edge. The pendant is open backed to allow light to shine through the beautiful stone.
Measures, including stone surround and bail, 3.6 x 2.5cm approximately. Hangs from a 16" or 18" sterling silver chain.
