Water cast silver nugget pendant

Water cast silver nugget pendant

£70.00

This pendant has been made using a technique called water casting, which is effectively heating a piece of sterling silver to a high temperature and throwing it into a vessel of swirling water. When the molten metal hits the moving water, it creates a unique shape or piece which cannot be replicated. This little nugget pendant was created in this way and is definitely something for those who love a delicate look, as the pendant measures just 0.6cm across and about 1cm high including the jump ring. It is quite thick though so feels nice and weighty on the neck hence why it is called a ‘nugget’. Hangs from a sterling silver 16” chain.

Materials: Solid silver, silver chain
Finish: Polished

All of my jewellery pieces are handcrafted by me using traditional silversmith skills at my little home studio, and are generally one of a kind in their design. I sometimes use findings which are not handmade, such as the chains I use for pendants but otherwise my jewellery is fashioned just from sheet silver and silver wire and old fashioned basic techniques and tools. I use ethically sourced gemstones where possible and all of the beachcombed items I use such as sea glass, sea pottery and sea plastic are genuine, mostly found by me (unless kindly donated) and smoothed naturally by the sea predominantly off the coast of England. My pieces are hallmarked when necessary as a precious metal by the London Assay Office with my maker’s mark – I use mostly sterling silver for my handmade jewellery and these are hallmarked when they are above the weight of 7.78g.
