This sea glass ring has been handcrafted using traditional silversmithing skills and tools. With a few basic tools, the back plate of sterling silver was sawn and then textured using a hammer, fused with a fine silver bezel and finished with a plain silver ring band. The back plate has been sawn to create an open back setting, allowing more light to filter through the beautiful piece of almost-heart-shaped aqua sea glass from the Isle of Sheppey. I very rarely tamper with the sea glass I find and use it just as it was found without filing into shape - this heart shaped piece of sea glass is as it was naturally found on the shore.
