Australian opal ring
Australian opal ring
Handcrafted using traditional silversmithing skills and tools at my East London studio.
This ring has been handcrafted using sterling silver sheet and silver wire. The opal sits on a mounted, textured square and the ring band forms underneath from silver wire which has been fused together in a frame. The silver has been oxidised and polished to give the texture depth and contrast.

Finish: Oxidised/polished
RIng size: UK P
All of my jewellery pieces are handcrafted by me using traditional silversmith skills at my little home studio, and are generally one of a kind in their design. I sometimes use findings which are not handmade, such as the chains I use for pendants but otherwise my jewellery is fashioned just from sheet silver and silver wire and old fashioned basic techniques and tools. I use ethically sourced gemstones where possible and all of the beachcombed items I use such as sea glass, sea pottery and sea plastic are genuine, mostly found by me (unless kindly donated) and smoothed naturally by the sea predominantly off the coast of England. My pieces are hallmarked when necessary as a precious metal by the London Assay Office with my maker’s mark – I use mostly sterling silver for my handmade jewellery and these are hallmarked when they are above the weight of 7.78g.
