This ring has been handmade using sterling silver and a fine silver bezel to encase a beautiful black pebble with white vein details. The pebble was found on the North East coast of England and has a textured surround, made using a steel stamp (each mark having been made individually).

The silver has been oxidised to give a darkened, rustic appearance. The ring band has a textured/hammered finish which has also been oxidised and is a size UK Q 1/2. The stone setting (including backplate) is approximately 17mm x 15mm in size.

All of my jewellery pieces are handcrafted by me using traditional silversmith skills at my little home studio, and are generally one of a kind in their design. I sometimes use findings which are not handmade, such as the chains I use for pendants but otherwise my jewellery is fashioned just from solid sheet metal and wire (silver, copper, brass, gold, bronze) and old fashioned basic techniques and tools. I use ethically sourced gemstones where possible and all of the beachcombed items I use such as sea glass, sea pottery and sea plastic are genuine, mostly found by me (unless kindly donated) and smoothed naturally by the sea predominantly off the coast of England. My pieces are hallmarked when necessary as a precious metal by the London Assay Office with my maker’s mark – I use mostly sterling silver for my handmade jewellery and these are hallmarked when they are above the weight of 7.78g.
